Ministry of Sound launches global fundraising campaign 'Donate to Dance'

Ministry of Sound, the international brand name synonymous with dance music, will be using its expertise, existing clients and global customer base to raise money for Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy this coming Easter Bank holiday.

On Thursday 24th March Ministry of Sound will launch a 10 day event called ‘Ministry of Sound Live: Donate to Dance’. A series of club nights which will be broadcast within a 230 hour non-stop radio show via its online radio station, which will aim to raise funds and increase global awareness for the charity.

The live stream will incorporate the entire radio schedule and two weekends of club nights held at the Elephant & Castle venue and The Miami Music Conference. As well as the live DJ sets, Ministry of Sound will introduce additional fund raising activity to include exclusive competitions and other special events.

Donations will be gathered via door entry to the club and various events; DJ fees; merchandise and auctions as well as being supported by the Ministry of Sound website that will enable people to pledge donations on-line.

The Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy approach was developed by Paul Nordoff and Clive Robbins in the 1950’s. The therapy involves the use of music for enhancing communication, supporting change and enabling people to live more resourcefully and creatively. It touches people’s lives all over the world whether suffering from mental illness, emotional problems, stress, physical illness and learning difficulties.

Via the campaign ‘Donate to Dance’ Ministry of Sound will encourage people to donate money via their love of dance music. Whether an attendee to the events, a listener on the radio or an industry member everyone who takes part will be influenced by music in line with the philosophy of the Nordoff- Robbins Music Therapy centre.

The initial campaign will begin in February, when Ministry of Sound will gather support from existing customers, clients, press and possible sponsors.

Rob Sharp, Station Manager of Ministry of Sound Radio

We thought of the ‘Donate to Dance’ campaign to allow us, Ministry of Sound, to use our expertise, knowledge and position in the dance music industry to assist Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy to raise funds and awareness for the worldwide charity. We are a globally recognised brand existing within a mass industry that has an influence over so many people’s lives. And it is by utilising this position, to hold an event where everyone in the world can get involved, that we can offer so much support to such a worthy charity.’

Confirmation of line ups and activity will be announced over the next two weeks. Ministry of Sound would like to request your support for this campaign to enable its success and ultimately the optimum results for Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy centres. So far Ministry of Sound has confirmed such support from Mixmag who will be hosting a 12hour Future Hero Show on the station.
